Census Bureau: 75.2% of people in South Dakota were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 881,785 citizens living in South Dakota in 2021, 75.2% were old enough to vote, equating to 663,087 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 334,819 were male, constituting 50.5%, and 328,268 were female, making up 49.5%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in South Dakota during 2021 was lower than the national average, which stands at 77.5%.
