Joe Rohlwing of the South Dakota men’s golf team was named Second Team All-Summit League Golfer, according to a May 1 announcement from the conference.
Rohlwing’s recognition comes after a season in which he led his team with an even-par scoring average across 18 rounds and six events. He finished the year with a stroke average of 71.56, achieved 11 rounds at or below par, and recorded four top-10 finishes, including one top-five showing.
Over three seasons with South Dakota, Rohlwing has played in 48 career rounds and accumulated a total of 3,457 strokes for a career scoring average of 72.02. This currently stands as the best in program history. The junior set a school record during the La Tour Intercollegiate on October 21 in Mathews, Louisiana by shooting a final round score of 62 (-10), surpassing the previous school record by two strokes.
Throughout this season, Rohlwing posted several rounds in the 60s, including two scores of 68 (-4) at the Loyola Invitational and other under-par performances during both fall and spring competitions. His consistent play has established him as one of the leading golfers within both his program and the Summit League.
