South Dakota women’s basketball head coach Carrie Eighmey announced on April 20 the addition of senior transfer Latazia Williamson from Kennesaw State to the Coyotes roster for the 2026-27 season.
The signing is significant as Williamson brings experience and proven performance to the team. Her arrival follows a standout junior year at Kennesaw State, where she averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds over 29 games, shooting 46 percent from the field and contributing defensively with 37 blocks and 26 steals.
“Latazia will make our team better on both ends of the floor!” Eighmey said. “She has great length and athleticism and plays with a high motor! She’s a rim running, rebounding athlete with the ability to score around the rim in different ways. We are looking forward to her becoming a Yote!”
Williamson has played in a total of 62 games over three seasons between Memphis and Kennesaw State, averaging five points and 3.6 rebounds per game throughout her career. Last season marked her first full year as a starter for Kennesaw State, during which she recorded twelve double-digit scoring games, including three performances with at least twenty points. She set her career high with twenty-one points against Jacksonville State in the regular season finale and notched her first career double-double against Western Kentucky.
