On Wednesday, August 27, Channel Seeds Opening Day will commence with shows, exhibits, and a carnival where rides cost $2 each. Thursday marks the 26th anniversary of collaboration with the Value Added Ag Center. Attendees can learn about transforming raw agricultural goods into new opportunities and network with representatives from various agencies supporting South Dakota agriculture.

Friday is Olympic Motors Day. Visitors can obtain a coupon for $2 off gate admission at Olympic Motors on East Highway 14 in Huron. The Olympic Motors Building at the fair will offer information on year-end discounts and chances to win “Best Seats in the House” for Grandstand shows.

Saturday is dedicated to South Dakota Farmers Union Day, celebrating family farmers and rural communities. A highlight is the Farmer’s Share Luncheon offering meals valued at $16 for just $0.52 to demonstrate the farmer’s share of retail food dollars. Events include a panel discussion on property tax issues and a Farm Safety FFA Quiz Bowl Championship.

Sunday, August 31, celebrates America250 with Red, White & You Day. Attendees are encouraged to wear patriotic colors for special prize drawings and participate in themed events like America’s Ag-mazing Race.

Monday focuses on community support with businesses sponsoring gate admissions for those in need through ‘Pay it Forward’ passes. Non-perishable food donations between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. can earn visitors $2 off admission.

The fair runs until September 1, offering diverse activities throughout its duration. For more details, contact the Fair office or visit their website or social media platforms.
