The South Dakota track and field program announced on April 29 that it will host the South Dakota Challenge at the Lillibridge Track Complex this weekend.

The event will feature live results available through Dakota Timing, with fans also able to access live streams via the Summit League Network. The meet is expected to showcase top performances from both men’s and women’s squads, which have achieved notable national rankings in several events.

According to the latest USFTCCCA weekly event squad rankings, four men’s event groups and two women’s event groups from South Dakota are ranked in the top 50 nationally. The men’s pole vault squad holds second place in the NCAA, while their shot put and discus squads are also among Division I’s best. On the women’s side, pole vault ranks fourth nationally.

Several individual athletes rank within the top 50 of their respective events nationwide. Notable performers include Caelan Harland (men’s pole vault), Anna Willis (women’s pole vault), Brandon Vander Sluis (men’s shot put), Marleen Mülla (women’s pole vault), Delaney Smith (hammer throw), and Mikael Grace (110-meter hurdles). These athletes are also positioned strongly within NCAA West regional standings as they aim for qualification to upcoming championships.

South Dakota athletes have received seven peak performer honors this season across various disciplines. In addition, numerous Coyotes lead or hold high positions in Summit League conference standings ahead of next month’s outdoor championships in Fargo, North Dakota.

The program has seen multiple entries into its all-time outdoor top ten lists this spring by both men’s and women’s competitors. Fans can follow updates on social media platforms including Facebook (/SDCoyotesXCTF), X (@SDCoyotesXCTF), and Instagram (@SDCoyotesXCTF).
