Our state cannot fight cycles of poverty, abuse, and addiction by throwing money at the problem until it “goes away.”
While there is a time and place for social services, taking a community-centered approach to alleviate poverty in our state will be better for struggling families and individuals. This can be accomplished by increasing the involvement of families, communities, and churches.
As Governor, I plan to create incentives to move people off support programs into a healthy and safe environment so that they can find their place in society once again.
