Census Bureau: More men than women in South Dakota in 2019

Of the 870,638 people living in South Dakota in 2019, 49.6 percent (431,692) were women and 50.4 percent (438,946) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Rushmore State News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 13,282. In the 65 and over age range, there were 76,448 females and 65,086 males.
