U.S. Highway 16A in Custer State Park will experience a temporary closure on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The closure will begin at 9 a.m. (MT) and affect the stretch from Wilson’s Corner to the State Game Lodge. This is due to the relocation and transport of a church building.

During this period, Highway 16A will be inaccessible to all traffic. Flaggers and signage will be present at Wilson’s Corner and the junction of Highway 16A and Wildlife Loop Road to manage the closure, which is expected to last until 2 p.m. (MT). The highway will reopen once the building has been successfully moved.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) emphasizes its mission "to provide a safe and efficient public transportation system."
