Tabor-Platte rail trail feasibility study meetings announced by SDDOT

Public meetings have been scheduled to discuss the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail Feasibility Study. These open houses will feature paper surveys and displays, allowing attendees to engage with the project without a formal presentation. Representatives from the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) and consulting staff will be present to answer questions.

The meetings are accessible for individuals with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Those needing assistance should contact the SDDOT ADA Coordinator at 605-773-3540 two business days before attending.

The schedule for the public meeting open houses is as follows:

- Tabor Community Center, March 4, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to noon CST

- Tyndall City Auditorium, March 4, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST

- Avon School Auxiliary Gymnasium, March 4, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST

- Dante Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Hall, March 5, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST

- Wagner School Cafeteria, March 5, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST

- Lake Andes Community Center, March 6, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to noon CST

- Geddes Multi-Purpose Center, March 6, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST

- Platte Community Building on March 6th between six and seven-thirty PM

An online survey that mirrors the paper version will be available on the feasibility study website at https://dot.sd.gov/tabor-to-platte-rail-to-trail-study. Written comments can be submitted at these events or through the website until Sunday, March 23rd.
