A woman from Brandon, South Dakota, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possessing and distributing methamphetamine in the Sioux Falls area. U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange delivered the sentence to Wendy Faye Stricherz, 49, on August 4, 2025.
In addition to her prison term, Stricherz will serve three years of supervised release and must pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Stricherz was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2024 for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute. She pleaded guilty on May 8, 2025.
Investigators determined that Stricherz traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to obtain methamphetamine which she distributed from her home and at a local bar in Sioux Falls. In October 2023, authorities executed a search warrant at her residence and found methamphetamine as well as materials used for distribution both at her home and in a vehicle she was using. Investigators believe she trafficked more than four pounds of methamphetamine within the Sioux Falls area.
The investigation was conducted by the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the Brandon Police Department, and the FBI. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Hodges.
“Stricherz was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.”
