South Dakota Lottery officials have announced that a Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold at Gas N More in Mobridge during Saturday’s drawing. The retailer will receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The winning entry matched all five numbers but did not match the Powerball. The player doubled their prize by selecting the Power Play option.

This win follows recent lottery activity in South Dakota, including a Lotto America jackpot won in Vermillion and a $20,000 Dakota Cash jackpot claimed from a ticket purchased at Corner Travel Plaza in North Sioux City.

Monday’s upcoming Powerball drawing will offer an estimated $750 million jackpot.

Lottery representatives recommend that winners sign the back of their tickets immediately and consult with a financial adviser before claiming prizes. Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings. Prizes can be claimed at any South Dakota Lottery redemption center. Details about the process are available on the South Dakota Lottery website at https://lottery.sd.gov/claim-your-prize/.

Revenue generated from lotto games contributes to state programs. Seventy percent of net revenue supports K-12 schools, state universities, and technical institutes through the General Fund. The remaining thirty percent goes to the Capital Construction Fund, which helps finance initiatives such as water and environment projects, ethanol fuel programs, and highway improvements.
