1,715 residents die of cancer in South Dakota in 2017

There were 1,715 South Dakota residents who died of cancer in 2017, a 1.2 percent increase over the previous year, according to data obtained from the National Center for Health Statistics.

In 2016, 1,694 South Dakota residents died of cancer.

The National Center for Health Statistics is the nation’s primary health statistics agency. The CDC and other health-related organizations can use NCHS data for a variety of ends.
