In 2021, South Dakota received $3,654,000 in EDA grants for economic development projects, ranking 43rd nationwide, according to the US Economic Development Administration (EDA).

The program that received the largest share of funds was economic adjustment assistance, which accounted for $2,000,000 in total grants.

The EDA is a federal government agency focusing exclusively on economic development.
