Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), recently appeared on KABD in Sioux Falls. During his appearance, he discussed the importance of Congress making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent to prevent a significant tax increase for small businesses in South Dakota.

"The 20% Small Business Deduction was created as a part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations," Brabant explained. This deduction has been crucial for small business owners facing economic challenges over recent years. However, it is set to expire at the end of 2025.

To address this issue, Brabant highlighted the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, which aims to make this deduction permanent. He emphasized that this legislative action would help avoid a massive tax hike affecting many small businesses across America.
