South Dakota's National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has initiated a new advertising campaign to express gratitude towards Senator John Thune for his support of small businesses. The campaign underscores Senator Thune's role in advocating for the permanence of the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction, which is at risk of expiring and could lead to significant tax increases for small businesses later this year.
Jason Glodt, NFIB South Dakota State Director, stated, "With the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction set to expire, millions of small businesses nationwide—including many in South Dakota—face a looming tax increase." He further praised Senator Thune as "a strong advocate for ensuring small businesses can compete by cosponsoring the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to make the deduction permanent and prevent a crippling tax increase."
The advertising campaign will be broadcasted on radio and digital platforms throughout South Dakota until April. Its objective is to raise awareness about safeguarding small businesses from potential tax hikes.
